Specialist Sensory Assessment Packages

At Children’s Sensory Therapy, we understand that every child is unique — and so are their needs. That’s why we offer three levels of sensory assessment packages to suit varying levels of complexity, along with a Combined Assessment & Treatment option for those who require ongoing input.

All assessments are carried out by experienced, HCPC-registered Occupational Therapists trained in Sensory Integration. Each package includes detailed recommendations tailored to your child’s specific sensory profile, with a focus on real-life function at home, school, or in the wider community.

We understand it can feel overwhelming to choose the right support, so we offer a free initial chat with parents or professionals to talk through your child’s needs and explore which package might be most beneficial.

Bronze Package – Clinic-Based Assessment

Best suited for children and young people experiencing mild sensory or motor coordination difficulties, or challenges with everyday functional tasks.

This package includes:

  • Review of referral and background paperwork
  • Supply and scoring of standardised assessment questionnaires
  • Two assessment sessions:
    • A parent/carer interview (up to 1.5 hours via MS Teams or at our clinic)
    • A child assessment at the clinic (up to 1.5 hours)
  • Written Sensory Profile Report with home-based recommendations
  • Parent feedback session (via phone or MS Teams, up to 1 hour)
  • General preparation, administration and clinical notes

Please note: If a home visit is needed due to a medical need, this can be arranged. Additional charges for travel and mileage will apply.

Silver Package – Home/Clinic + School Assessment

Designed for children with mild to moderate sensory processing differences. This package includes assessment across more than one setting, typically at home (or clinic) and at school.

This package includes:

  • Review of referral and background paperwork
  • Supply and scoring of standardised assessment forms
  • Two assessment sessions:
    • A parent/carer interview (up to 1.5 hours via MS Teams or at the clinic)
    • A child assessment (at home or clinic – up to 1.5 hours)
  • School-based observation and teacher meeting:
    • Observation of your child in school (up to 1 hour)
    • Meeting with class teacher or SENCO (up to 30 minutes)
  • Comprehensive Sensory Report with home and school recommendations
  • Parent feedback session (via phone or MS Teams, up to 1 hour)
  • General preparation, administration and clinical notes

Please note: Additional charges apply for travel to school or home visits. If your child is not currently attending school, the school element will be omitted.

Gold Package – Full Home, School & Clinic Assessment

Ideal for children with moderate to complex sensory needs, including those with an EHCP or who are in the process of applying for one. This package provides a comprehensive view of your child’s sensory profile across multiple settings.

This package includes:

  • Review of referral and background paperwork
  • Supply and scoring of home and school standardised assessment forms
  • Two assessment sessions:
    • A parent/carer interview (up to 2 hours via MS Teams or at the clinic)
    • A child assessment (at home or clinic – up to 2 hours)
  • Detailed school assessment:
    • Observation in multiple settings (e.g. classroom, break time, lunch – up to 2 hours)
    • Teacher or TA interview (up to 30 minutes)
  • Full Sensory Report including EHCP recommendations (where appropriate)
  • Parent feedback session (via MS Teams, up to 1 hour)
  • School feedback session (via phone or MS Teams, up to 1 hour)
  • General preparation, administration and clinical notes

Additional travel and mileage costs apply for all off-site visits.

The Strategy Programme can be added to your Gold Assessment Package. It provides a clear, easy-to-share summary of your child’s sensory needs and practical strategies for both home and school.

This includes:

  • A concise breakdown of your child’s sensory profile
  • Specific, targeted strategies to support regulation in daily routines
  • Activities to promote gross motor, fine motor, and sensory development (where appropriate)
  • A parent-friendly document that can be shared with school or other professionals without disclosing full assessment details
